The Grey Matters was recorded in its entirety between May of 2020 and May of 2021-- entirely arranged, performed, produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Wulf Downard. The bonus material includes remasters of three recordings made before 2020: "Porto Alegre," "Fliege, Täuschen Sie!" and "Valse du Loup et du Corbeau."
The Grey Matters is currently available on nearly every streaming platform and digital music outlet in the world.

"The Gift of Anger" contains a short sample of Liam Neeson's dialogue from Batman Begins, used without permission. "The Grey Matters" contains a short sample of Mark Hamill's dialogue from Star Wars, Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, also used without permission.
